TAQTRON - Multi-path 3G/LTE Load Balanced Public Safety Vehicle Handover Router

Public Safety Triple 3G/LTE Vehicle Router with GPS

The TAQTRON public safety in-vehicle router reliably connects a Mobile Unit to back-end systems over the Internet using up to three independent 3G, LTE or CDMA2000 EV-DO modems. All EDGE/3G/LTE or CDMA2000 uplinks are used in parallel with active and dynamic load balancing over all available networks. Network qualification and prioritization is based on a multi-parameter intelligent algorithm. An independent VPN tunnel to the gateway server is used on each uplink. If one uplink becomes unavailable or congested, traffic will be immediately routed to other VPN tunnels on available uplinks. The handover is immediate and transparent to the users guaranteeing an uninterrupted session.

Combining multiple 3G/LTE/CDMA2000 uplinks with load balancing is ideal for installations where variations in coverage are great and network throughput is limited or the application requires high capacity throughput. The bandwidth can be increased with three parallel connections, ensuring that network performance is optimal.

A 50-channel 3D G-sensor assisted GPS receiver is used to locate the vehicle, even in tunnels or urban canyon conditions where GPS signals are missing. Dead-reckoning navigation is performed by the GPS receiver using 3D accelerometers for postion, speed and altitude navigation. The position data may be sent to a defined IP address for fleet monitoring purposes. The vehicle class power supply is backed up with a UPS guaranteeing operation for 10 minutes.

Configuration and management of the TAQTRON router is performed remotely over any available wireless up-link using a secure authenticated session. Optional IDS/IPS softwares are available to the TAQTRON to address specific high network security and cyber-protection demands.
